EXCELLENT VAUDEVILLE AX ■OPERA HOUSE.
There could be no surer antidote to the germ of depression than the concluding revuo presented by Stanley McKay's popular vaudeville artists at the Opera House last evening. The versatile artists had another delightful progrannuo of picturesque ballets, orig inal dance numbers, and bright interludes of wit and humour. A feature of the evening was Miss Amy Rochelle vocal items, and she had to respond to repeated encores. Miss Reno Rich, Australia’s noted violinist, captivated her audience with her variations of ‘‘Yankee Doodle,” ‘‘Ghost Dance,” and ‘ ‘ Annie Laurie. ’ ’ The dcathdaring acrobatics of the Warton quartette again held the onlookers spellbound, and met with vociferous applause. The mirth-provoking interludes of Fred Bluett and Wally Reynolds also scored a popular success. Indeed, the whole performance was one of great merit, and the appeal of the items was enhanced by the colourful ballet dresses and the fine settings. Palmerston North vaudeville lovers will be pleased to hear that the company is to make a return visit next Monday week.
