Ashhurst Sale
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Ashhurst sale held on March 8 as under: — Wo submitted a full yarding of breeding ewes and lambs to a large attendance of the public, and have to report a keen sale all the wa.y through, only one pen of ewes being passed. The inquiry for lambs was particularly good, and these in our opinion sold in vendors’ favour. Quotations arc as under: —
•Jyr ewes, hill sheep and seed}-, to 8s Gd; 4 and Syr ewes, 7s, 7s 6d, 7s 9d; Syr ewes, Ss Id, Ss Gd, 6s, 6s 3d, 6s Gd to 7s; Eomney wether lambs, medium from 6s to 7s 6d; b.f. lambs, from 7s Gd, 7s 9d, Ss, 8s 2d, 8s Gd to 9s 7d; fat ewes, ss, Ss 3d, 5s Gd, Ss 7d to Ss Sd; fat wethers, to 12s; fat lambs, b.f., Us to Us lOd; S.D. rams, from Ign, Ugns, l£gns, 2gns to 21
gns. Cattle: Fat cows dairy sorts, £1 10s, £1 15s, £1 17s Gd, £2 to £2 10s; dairy cows, from £2 to £5; store cows, 12s, 15s, 17s Gd, £1 to £1 Ss; potter bulls, £1 10s, £2, £2 Ss £2 10s; nice quality wcaner heifers to £1 Us; weaner pigs, 5s Cd, Gs, 6s Gd, 7s to 8.-; slips, 9s 6d to 10s.
