Tho Manawatu green, which is now one of the fastest greens in the city, is in excellent order for the finals of the club championship events, which lire nearing completion. The four remaining in the champion singles —Kershaw', Shand, Corbridge and Oxenham—are scheduled to decide this issue immediately. The championship pairs is also nearing completion and tho remaining games arc being arranged to be played off right away. . The following championship pairs games were completed on Wednesday: Shand, Kershaw (s.) 31 defeated Porter, Olney (s.) 14; Cockburn, Gerrand (s.) 22 defeated E. Low, D. Low (s.) 15; Christmas, King (s.) 21 defeated Robertson, Warwick (s.) 16. The following rink has been selected to represent Manawatu Club on Saturday, February 4, in a challenge against Palmerston North Club, the holders of the Manson Barr Cup: Christmas, Hunter, McDonald, Radford (s.).
