Wages Cut for Canadian Railway Men

26,000 AFFECTED.

United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright Received Monday, 10.30 p.m. MONTREAL, Jan. 29.

The Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways served notice to the engineers, firemen, conductors, trainmen, yardmen and telegraphers, constituting the running trades, of a twenty per. cent, reduction in the basic rate of wages to become effective on March 3rd.

The new rate is ten per cont. below that paid during tho past year, and 26,000 men are involved.
