Members of the Board of Control from, all the States except Western Australia, assembled in Canberra at a special meeting to consider Marylebone’s reply to the Board's cable protesting against bodyline bowling. The meeting lasted all day after which the chairman (Dr. Robertson) announced that there would be no statement made to the Press. It is understood that a cable has been sent to Marylebone, but the contents cannot even bo surmised. The Victorian and Queensland delegates left for home to-night. South Australia’s Good Lead On Queensland Received Monday, 11.30 p.m. BRISBANE, Jan. 30. In the Sheffield Shield match South Australia in their first innings made 219 (Tobin 47, Grimmett 31). Gilbert took 4 wickets for SS, Oxenham 2 for 30 and Brow 2 for 28. Queensland (who scored 129 in their first innings) made 192 in their second effort (Levy 68, Cook 23). Grimmett took 7 for 86 and Lee 3 for 59. With 73 to make to win South Australia in their second innings lost no wickets for 24. The wicket was damaged by rain.
