The first matches in the second round of the Hunter Shield series was. commenced ou Saturday, Woodville playing Old Boys (Dannovirke) at Danncvirke. Old Boys batted first and compiled a score of 214. Grant 73 and Bailey 62 were the most successful batsmen each giving good displays. Fredorickson 24 and Smith 16 also obtained double figures. At tho drawing of stumps Woodville had lost four wickets for 117 runs. The match will be continued at Woodville next Saturday.
