SPECTACULAR SAVING FOR AUSTRALIAN STATES.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received Friday, 10.25 p.m. , CANBERRA, _ Jan. 26. , The Assistant-Treasurer, Mr. Greene, has announced that the banks had agreed to reduce the rate of interest charged on Government treasury bills from 3) to -3i per cent. The saving to the various governments would be £125,000 yearly.
