New Zealand Butter for Canada
DOMINION WINDFALL. United Press Association—By Electric Tolegraph—Copyright Received Friday, 10.45 p.ru. TORONTO, Jan. 27. A despatch sent to the Mail and Empire from Ottawa states that a shortage of butter in tho west permits tho importation of 450,000 pounds of New Zealand product without prejudice to Canadian agriculture. This is tho opinion of tho high Government officials.

VANCOUVER, Jan. 26.
With a largo quantity of New Zealand butter due to arrive on Friday, tho Provincial Agriculture Department is sending urgent telegrams to Ottawa demanding action to protect British Columbia dairymen from any unfair competition. Mr. William Atkinson, the Minister, said: “If the shipments comply with tho law, they must bo admitted.”
Dairymen insist on tho currency of the dumping duty as an offset to tbo depreciation of the New Zealand pound
