At the welcome to their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloo at Pahiatua yesterday, the Mayor (Mr. J. D. Wilson) road tho following telegram from the member for tho district and Minister of Lands (Hon. E. A. Ransom): "I have to thank you for tho kind invitation to meet their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloo at Pahiatua, and to express my regret that on account of my Parliamentary duties I am unable 'to accept. Pahiatua, with other towns in my electorate, is to be congratulated on having the honour of a visit from their Excellencies and on behalf of my constituents I desire to convey to both Lord and Lady Bledisloe, through you, an assurance of our high appreciation. I should bo glad if you would extend to those assembled my hearty felicitations and also make suitable apologie's for ony absence.”
