ANNIVERSARY DAY TOURNEY A progressive pairs tournament was conducted on the Feilding and Oroua Bowling Clubs’ greeus on Monday and proved a successful day. The recording arrangements were capably attended to on the Feilding and Oroua greens by Mr. J. Bartholomew and Mr. Gv ,W. Shrimpton respectively, the efforts of both towards the smooth working of the tourney being greatly appreciated. The final game, which took place at a fairly late hour and was interfered with slightly by tho fading light, saw Bridge (lead) and Aitken (skip), of Oroua, beat Duncan (lead) and Hockcn (skip) of the Feilding Club, by eight points to one in a seven-head game. The following are the details of the play:— On the Feilding green.—Skips: Williamson, 3 wins, 5 losses; Simpson, 4 wins, 4- losses; Ramsay, o wins, 5 losses; Burns, 4 wins, 4 losses; Hocken, 6 wins, 2 losses; Hope, 3 wins, 5 losses; Dewe, 4 wins, 4 losses; McLean, 4 wins, 4 losses; Eilett, 5 wins, 3 losses; Roach, 4 wins, 4 losses. Leads: Eight, 3 wins, 5 losses; White, 2 wins, 6,losses; Macßeynolds, 2 wins, 6 losses; Duncan, 6 wins, 2 losses; Imrie, G wins, losses; G. Bartholomew, 5 wins, o losses; Law, G wins, 2 losses; Pearson, 2 wins, G losses; Fowler, 2 'wins, G losses; Tingey, G wins, 2 losses. Semi-finals: Leads, Imrie 5 v. Tingey 3; Duncan 8 v. Law I. Final: Duncan 6 v. Imrie 4. Hocken won the skips’ contest with 6 straight-out wins.

Straight-out wins were secured in the skips by Aitken with 7 wins and by Bridge in the leads with 6 wins. The final of the tourney w r as played on the Oroua green between Aitnen and B-rklge and Duncan and Hocken who had qualified for tho final by their play on the Feilding green. The two first named ran out the winners by eight points to one, the final game providing an interesting finish to an enjoyable day’s bowis.
FEILDING v. PALMERSTON
The Palmerston North Club made its annual visit to the Feilding Club on Saturday last. The only contest won by the local club was the colts ’ rink.
