DIAMONDS IN FASHION AGAIN.
Diamonds arc in fashion again, and after a long period of subdued ornamentation and simple mock jewellery, the London woman of fashion is trying to outglitter the ladies of the ’nineties. .Diamond stars, crescents, suns, bows and daggers are all to be seen, and every society girl who becomes engaged chooses a single stone diamond ring. The shapes of the new jewellery are the same as those of latter Victorian days, but the settings are lighter. Diamond hair daggers are being worn as evening hair ornaments by women of all ages who can get them and light bandeaux of precious stones such as the Duchess of York sometimes wears, are also seen. At a party recently the most admired woman’s head was decked with a big diamond true lover’s knot set at an angle. For the daytime one can fasten one’s neckwear with a trio of graduated diamond stars or with little diamond towi with a hat ornament to match.
