Inter-Club Tennis.
To-day Bulls and Marion Tenuis Clubs will play a homo and homo tennis match, the A teams meeting at Bulls, while the B teams are set down to play at Marion. Toarns have been selected as follow: A: P. Ralfe, F. Ralfe, N. Amos, V. Duncurn, H. Hendry and J. Churchill, Miss Walker, Miss I. Walker, Miss Wilson, Miss Ralfe, Miss Goodall and Airs. Hendry. B: G. Drew, M. 0. Gould, M. Arnon, M. Robertson, A, W. Amor, E. Broughton, Miss M. Kearney, Mrs. Armstrong, Miss Stevens, Miss Brookie, Miss Larmer and Miss Kearney. Reserves, F. Howard and D. Fracc, Miss Guy and Airs. Mackay. Cricket. Bulls are set down to play Flock House this week-end, the match to be I>layed on the latter’s ground, play commencing at 10.30 a.m. The Bulls’ players will be: Reeves, ileads, Hazelwood, Young, Sadler, Sharp, Anderson, Last-Harris, York, Kitchen and O’Connell. Bulls Bowling Chib. Members of the abovo club have shown continued activity during tho past few days and several very interesting games have ensued. Results of general interest are as under:—Hillicr and Brown 20 v. Dwyer and Crouchcr 27; Perrett and Drew 20 v. E. Dwyer and Crouchor 2G; Ellery, Brookie, Simpson and Ingram 20 v. Ililier, Ransom, E, V. Wilson and Archer 21. General. The edict emanating from a recent meeting of the Bulls Town Board, anent riding on the footpaths in Bulls, has been received with mixed feelings. Those who journey hither and thither per Shank’s pony, are very grateful for tho board’s intercession on their behalf, but the wrongful users of the smooth and narrow way, several of whom have received semi-official warnings, think they have been badly doi by. The next sitting of the local Court will be watched with interest. It is said that a local resident who visited AVellington for the Trentham races had quite a nice little punt on Brokon Rule for which he received a munificent dividend. It is just as well Broken Rulo’s race was after the Royal Stakes for it is quite on the cards that Diatomous, which w r as backed very solidly in Bulls, ivouhl have claimed all his winnings otherwise. Parents are making preparations for the reopening of the schools next month. Quito a number of local boys who gained proficiency certificates last November have been enrolled with the Palmerston North Technical School. Personal. Airs. E. V. Wilson, of Bulls, is visiting relatives in Paraparaumu. Mrs. E. McKenzie, of Ballance, who has been visiting her people in Bulls and Carnarvon, returned home yesterday. Messrs H : Stevens, Al. C. Gould, A. Bromley and I. R. Bevan motored to Wellington for the Trentham races.
