RETURNS FOR HOROWHENUA DISTRICT. NEAV BUSINESS AT PAEAPAEA UM U AND MAKERUA. The analysis of tho connected electrical load of tho llorowhcnua Power Board to December 13, 1932, was submitted to the monthly meeting on Tuesday, by the engineer (Mr. J. A. Smith), and it showed the following position:— k.w. Lighting 1325 No. TJ. h.p. Milking motors .. .. Ss3* 941 Industrial motors .. .. 524 3163 k.w. Heating points 4205 3302 Ranges 565 3552 AVatcr-heatcrs 987 620 No, of consumers— Connected 3922 Applications .. .. 3956 Total connected load .. 11,878 * Representing 635 sheds. In his monthly report, tLf! engineer stated that 18 applications had been received from new consumers and 24 for extensions to existing installations, included in which were: Three ranges, 2 water-heaters, 3 milking and separator and 1 pumping motor. Bixtcen new consumers and 31 extensions had been connected comprising 5 ranges, 4 waterheaters, 6 milking and separator, and a small industrial motor—an incrcaso of 73.602 k.w. Replying to questions by members as to the localities of new business, the engineer stated that there had been a number of installations consequent on the extension of the service at Paraparaumu, ten properties being connected in a week, with two or three more yet to be served. There had been some extensions iu the Makerua district. Mr. Barber expressed the opinion , that, when times improved, a great deal of electricity should be used on the Makerua Plains.
