TRAIN STOPS TO REMOVE CAR WHANGAREI, Dec. 20. When the early goods train was travelling through Topuni early on Saturday morning it was stopped by a platelayer, who told of a car which had toppled from the overhead bridge on to tho railway line. Evidently the steering gear had given way and the car had crashed into tho railing of tho bridge, to topple down the steep embankment, and on to tho line. Among thoso in tho car was Mr. T. N. Trcmewan, an engineer employed by the Whangarei Dairy Company. There were three women passengers, and one of them was injured and received attention on the roadside. The car, the hood of which was considerably damaged, was pulled into a clear position with a rope from tho railway engine. Mr. Tremcwan was able to drive away with tho car under its own power.
