Rongotea

From Our Own Correspondent. The results of the proficiency examination held at Rongotea on Monday, December 5, were:—Proficiency: Arthur Jessop, Ronald Hill, Ailsa Buchanan, Joyce CaverhilJ, June Hancox, Marjorie Johansen, Annie Martin, Mary Fraser/ Competency: Violet Bottcher. Ten children sat for the examination and only ono failed by a small margin, which reflects great credit upon the headmaster, Mr. L. J. Walker. Miss Elsie Kowe, of Rongotea, is an inmate of the Bowen street lispital, Wellington, where she underwent a serious operation. Her many friends will be grieved to learn that her condition is reported as serious.
