From Our Own Correspondent. Tennis.

Tho attendance at tho courts on Wednesday, club day, was smaller than usual, duo no doubt to the fact that the present is a very busy timo for farmers.- An invitation has been received and accepted from tho Longburn Tennis Club to play a friendly match on the Longburn courts on Saturday. A team of six ladies and six-men will journey to Longburn to tako part in tho games. The Kairanga Club is fortunate in securing this early match which should do much to stimulate local tennis—liable, unfortunately,to lag at the beginning of tho season.? Tho area of the Kairanga--under cultivation this year shows an increase upon previous years. Alost of the mangel crops have already been, sown and paddocks are now being prepared for tho later crops, turnips, swedes, etc.
