From Our Own Correspondent. On Tuesday morning a number of Methodist churchmen attended at the church for tho purposo of planting potatoes in tho spare paddock at the rear. The paddock had) been ploughed previously and when the party gbt to work it was not long before the planting job was finished. Tho labourers then spent tho rest of tho day tidying up tho front of tho church in readiness for the church’s anniversary services next week-end. The competition at this month’s meeting of the Women’s Institute will be for the best Christmas gift casting not more than Is 6d. A demonstration on soft toys will-bo given by Mrs. E. Thomas, of Te Arakura. A kitchen and pantry tea took place in the Lodge room on Wednesday afternoon in honour of Miss M. Ranson, of Palmerston North, and formerly of Bunnythorpe, whose wedding takes* place at an early date. A number of friends and old schoolmates gathered to extend their best wishes to Miss Ranson, and many useful articles for tho kitchen were handed to tho bride-to-bo by those present. The afternoon passed pleasantly with social chat and afternoon tea.
