Central School Grounds
Special to Times. WANGANUI, Last Night. Mr. M. H. Oram brought up tho question of the grounds at Central School at to-day’s meeting of tho Wanganui Education Board, saying that the broken concrete was a serious menace. “Tho chairman of the Central School Committee asked us to inspect the concrete work round the school,” said Mr. Oram. “The committee maintained that tho board’s lorries had seriously damaged it. Mr. Hodge admitted that tho concrete was in a bad condition, but holds that it was due to faulty construction in the first place.” Mr. Hodge said that tho work must be done quickly,, before an accident happened. The chairman of tho committee had offered to pay £6O towards repairing the concrete.
It was resolved that tho offer of the chairman of the committee be accepted with thanks, and that the matter of resurfacing the concrete area of the school be gone into at once.
