Purchase of Fowl Wheat
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In tho House of Representatives today, discussing the vote for the Industries and Commerce Department in the Estimates, Mr. M. J. Savage asked whether the department would control the sale of wheat to poultry farmers. Mr. R. Semple asked for details as to the price at which the recent purchase of £25,000 worth of fowl wheat had been made ,in Australia, and what tho retail price had been. Tho Minister said that the wheat had been purchased in the open market, and he did not think there were any middleman’s profits any more than was the case with similar transactions within New Zealand. The cost per bushel had already been made, public.
