Father in Spirit Assumes Flesh
A name in "Skippy" becomes a reality in "Sooky," Paramount’s filming of a new Porey Crosby story, which opens at the Kosy on Wednesday next with "Tho Broken Wing." Tho father about, whom tell-tale Jaskie Sehrl talked, but who never appeared in the first picture, appears in scenes for the new production. He is portrayed by Leigh Allen, stage actor. Allen makes his debut as a Crosby character in a play that re-unites seven members of the "Skippy" cast for the projection of roles they created. They are: Jackie Cooper as Skippy, Robert Coogan as Sooky, Jackie Scarl as Sidney, Willaird Robertson as Doc. Skinner, Enid Bennett as Mrs Skinner, Helen Jerome Eddy as Mrs Wayne, Sooky’s mother; and Guy Oliver as Mr Moggs, tho man who makes whistles and tilings out of willow. 1 In addition, Oscar Apfel, the whiskered "king” of “Huckleberry Finn"; Harry Beresford, Broadway’s “Old Soak,” and ponderous, shuffling Tom Wilson as a policeman, have foreground portrayals. -
