Feilding Girls' Club

PARENTS’ EVENING Members of St. John’s Girls’ Club, Feilding, on Monday evening entertained their parents, a large gathering being delighted with the excellent programme presented. The evening commenced with a pianoforte duet playeu by Misses Leila Geary' and Muriel Fitzpatrick and this was followed by a play entitled “The Grand Cham’s Diamond.’’ In this rather, well done sketch Misses Irene Fitzpatrick, Joan Bowers, Isabel Desmond, Joan Benson and Dorothy Burgess played their respective parts in a manner which earned for them most encouraging applause. Everybody joined in the community sing which followed and then Miss Joan Billman recited, to give way to an exhibition of folk dancing which was in every way pleasing. Misses Marjorie Morphy and Eileen - Geary sang their vocal duet well and the oneact play “Wanted a Cook” was quite diverting. The performers in this number were Misses Joan Billman, Molly Petrie, Marjorie Morphy, Vivienne Barltrop and Eileen Geary. The programme concluded with a mannequin parade in which the girls obtained some very clever effects. The accompaniments were played by Misses L. Geary and M. Fitzpatrick. 1 Supper and dancing concluded a very successful evening.
