Notes of the Day

The first of a series of evenings organised by the Feilding branch of the Labour party to provide funds to meet any distress arising from the present freezing workers’ hold-up was held on Saturday night. The proceeds totalled just on £ls and thanks are returned u> all who assisted. The Feilding Pipe Band played outside the hail prior to the cards and later dance music was provided by the Tui orchestra. The winners of the euchre competition were Mrs. Smith and Mr. Thurston, while Mr. Ellery won a competition held later in the evening. This evening the Feilding Amateur Athletic Club will conduct a road cycle race.
