Checking Lawlessness
MORE SENTENCES IN WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 20. In connection with the recent disturbances in the city, Ernest. Walter Dudley, 32, plumber, for inciting lawlessness, was convicted and ordered to ee-no up for sentence if called within twelve months, conditional on entering a bond of £SO to be of good behaviour. George Alexander Robert Irving, 32, similarly charged, wag sentenced to three months. His offence was committed at- Parliament gates. Fred Alex. Corbey, 28, seaman, for obstructing a constable, was fined £3, in default seven days. This scuffle had nothing to do with the disturbance, but occurred while the disturbance was on and was said by the police to be dangerous in the circumstances.
