English Raisin Buns

Into a warm mixing bowl sift two cups of flour, and make a well in the centre. Into this pour half a cup of lukewarm water, then crumble in one cake of compressed yeast. When the yeast is soft, add three tablespoons each of sugar and melted butter, two eggs well beaten, and half a tablespoon of salt. Stir tho liquid into the flour to make a smooth batter, cover it and set it in a warm place for about two hours. Fold in ono cup of raisins and fill greased muffin pans half full. Leave to riso again about half an hour and bake in a moderate oven about 25 minutes.
