LINDBERGH KIDNAPPING MYSTERY IN EIGHTH WEEK. PRIVATE TELEPHONE WIRES TO ESTATE TAPPED. New York Times Broadcast. HOPEWELL, N.J., April 20. Her identity still a secret, the woman who came hero from Kansas City supposedly to see Colonel Lindbergh left tc-day. Her mission likewise remained a secret as she took off from Camden, N.J., in the large red monoplane in which she landed yesterday. Dr. John C. Condon, tho “Jafsie, ’’ who paid 50,000 dollars of Colonel Lindbergh’s money to a supposed representative of the kidnappers, remains silent in his Bronx home, neither confirming nor deny'ing rumours that he again made contact with tho kidnappers,.ycsterday whilo rowing in Pelham Bay.
The automobile carrying three men entered the estate of Colonel Lindbergh ar Hopewell late to-day and inspired a new burst of speculation as the mystery of the kidnapping of the flyer’s son entered its eighth week. .The automobile was traced by its license plates to the Broadway, New York, address of Owncy Madden. At the same time State police watching the estate revealed that someone had tapped the private telephone wires leading into the Lindbergh home.
