PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB’S SEASON ENDS. The Palmerston North Bowling Club concluded its season on Saturday attcinoon with a rinks tournament, ihcrc were four games each of seven heads and the pleasant autumn sunshine and excellent green contributed to most enjoyable play. Tliero was an excellent muster of members, seven rinks being occupied. Prior to play commencing the president (Mr. J. N. Patou) briefly addressed the assemblage. The past season, ho said had been most successful, and one of which any club might well be proud. The Palmerston North Club had provided the winners of the Manawatu Centre’s New Year’s pairs tournament, the winners and runners-up of the Easter tournament, had gained the pairs and singles of the champion of champions events, and held the Dixon Cup and Fletcher Shield, the two premier trophies for inter-club competition. Mr. Patou paid a tribute to the services of the caretaker (Mr. W. J. Frew), the green superintendent (Mr. G. G. Wilson), the secretary (Mr. L. T. Brown), the committee, and the ladies who had attended during the season to provide afternoon tea. On his call they wero all accorded cheers. Mr. Paton also wished the veterans of the club a pleasant off-season and hoped to see them all present when activities were resumed next summer.

Rinks skipped by L. J. Arnott and P. Skoglund emerged from the tournament with 31 wins each, and the final was annexed by Skoglund’s team by points to 1(1. Rinks skipped by the president (Mr. J. K. Paton) and vice-president (Mr. IN. H. Nash) played a match against rinks skipped by the secretary (Mr. L. T. Brown) and treasurer (Mr. A. E. Kerslake). On the aggregate, the latter won by a single point, each side

The Terrace End Bowling Club brought its season to a conclusion on Saturday afternoon when a gala day was held. A progressive rinks competition attracted a number ' of rinks from the city and district clubs and the three games, each of 20 minutes’ duration, provided good bowls. Thompson (Foxton) and Olnev (Manawatu) tied with three wins cacti, and in the play-off Manawatu won 3 —2 after three heads had been played. The detailed scores are as follow: —
