On Tuesday evening next the Pirates’ Hockey Club, of Ecilding, will hold a dance at the Parish hall. During the month of March 10 cows, 5 oxen, 87 hcil'ors, .'589 wethers, 123 owes, 23 lambs, 18 vealers and 1313 pigs were dealt with at the Feilding Municipal abattoir. Fees amounted to £272 12s 7cl as compared with £2Ol 2s Id for tho corresponding month of last year, an increaso of £8 10s 3d. Building operations are very quiet in FeUding just, now, and last month permits for alterations numbering three were issued for work valued at £ll.
Fcilding continues to enjoy a clean bill of health, according to a report made to last evening’s meeting of the Fcilding Borough Council, which slated that no cases of infectious disease were reported during the month. The announcement of Mr. A. 11. Button's retirement from tho position of Fcilding borough representative on the Fire Board was made at last, evening’s meeting of tho Fcilding Borough Council, when amotion was carried placing on record the council's appreciation of his services. Cr. E. Fair was appointed to fill the vacancy. At last evening's meeting of the Fqiiding Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. C. E. Taylor) was appointed to represent, the borough on the special committee representing constituent local bodies in tho Mnnnwatu-Oroua Electric Power Board’s district, set up to keep in touch with the proposals regarding the complete amalgamation of towns within power board districts for tho distribution and consumption of power.
