A shabby umbrella can be made like new by sponging it with hot tea. Make strong tea, add a couple of lumps of sugar, but no milk. Sponge the cover with the liquid, and it will bo strengthened and stiffened.
Mustard mixed with milk will keep fresh a much longer time than if mixed with water.
Don't throw away coffee grounds. Dry them, and they will be useful for knife cleaning. After washing and rinsing lace, beat an egg to a froth, add one quart or less of cold water, according to the tint required, put the laco in and gently lift it .up and down several timos. Squeeze out the moisture, hang in the shade until half dry, then place between two elean cloths and iron. A soft, creamy tint will Tesult.
