The reputation of Paris as one of the noisiest cities in the world is surprisingly confirmed hv an airman named George S. Abrial, whose glider Was towed by an aeroplane and liberated at 4000 feet above the city, over which it circled for half an hour. The airman says that he clearly heard an incc-sant humming, the hooting of motor cars, the whistling of trains, the barking of dogs, and sometimes voices.
