For the first day of the Hawke ’» Bay Jockey Club’s meeting there was glorious weather and a very large attendance. The track was fast and the racing good. Chrysology, a hot favourite, was first to show out from Brown Sugar, Freehold and Moa Bird. At the railway bend Teller was in the lead, with Brown Sugar close up.
