LOANS GRANTED AT TO * AND A-HALF PER CENT. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Aug. 15. Decisions reached regarding applications for financial assistance ' ’ the earthquake area have been communicated to over twenty claimants. It appears that no grants of free money are to be paid. Applicants have been granted loans carrying interes 1 - at 1J per cent.; repayment to be spread jver periods ranging between twenty and thirty years according to the stat. the applicant’s affairs. In every ca.; there is a period of from three ' > five years immediately after the granting of assistance during vhich no interest will be charged. The offers have created a most favourable impression in Napier.
