STUDENTS’ MEETING BECOMES A BEDLAM. SECRETARY KIDNAPPED IN DARKNESS Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 12. The annual meeting of students of Canterbury University College, held last evening, was made farcical by the antics of some of those present. The mooting opened tumultuously with a storm of paper darts, peanuts and bags of flour.. The president was greeted with a volley of missiles and terrific cheering. The minutes were read amidst a babel of noise of whistling, songs and cheering. The balancesheet was read in the intervals of songs about beer and other beverages. At one stage, later, the lights wero put out and the secretary mysteriously abducted.
