Royal Engagement

LADY MAY CAMBRIDGE TO CAPTAIN ABEL-SMIT”

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 7.

The engagement is officially announced of Lady May Cambridge, niece ot the Queen, who returned from South Africa a few months ago with her father and mother, the Earl of Athlone, and Princess Alice, to Captain Henry Abel-Smith, of the Royal Horse Guards. Tho marriage will probably take place iu October. Captain Smith served as A.D.O. to tho Earl of Athlone in South Africa, and is a popular member of an old and wealthy family. Lady May and her parents left London to-night on a visit to Holland.
