Lang Fulfils Requirements
Can Now Pay Civil Service Salaries £500,000 Advanced hy Loan Council Australian Press Association. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. MELBOURNE, Aug. 9. The Loan Council has approved the issue of Treasury Bills amounting to £500,000 covering the cash requirements of New South Wales for July. The Federal Prime Minister, in making the announcement, said the New South Wales Government had given all the undertakings required •even, to effecting the 20 per cent reduction in adjustable Government expenditure.
Mr. Scullin added that the question of the cash requirements for each State Government for August and subsequent months would be considered next week.
It is now expected that the New South Wales public service salaries will be paid on Monday.
