After a stormy passago up the coast, the m.v. Foxton arrived in port on Saturday afternoon with a full carge of produce from Lyttelton. The vessel completed discharge late on Saturday night and has since been waiting an improvement in the weather beforo taking on board a further shipment of fa! cattle for the Addington market. During tho week-end heavy rain has fallen almost continuously' accompanied. by strong and squally west to southwest winds, often of gale force. Owing to the flooded condition of the river anil tho heavy sea running on the coast, conditions at the Manawatu bar yesterday were again particularly rough. Tlie unfavourable conditions are also responsible for tho backing up of tho water in the flooded area at Whirokino where the road and countryside are still covered with a good depth of water.
