AMERICA WILL NOT TAKE ACTION. United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.25 p.m. NEW YORK, April 4. The New York Times says tho hope of the silver interests in America and other countries of tho world that tho United States would call a conference to stabilise the price of that metal as recently proposed by the Senate committee ended with tho intimation that President Hoover did not approve of the step. It was felt that the United States has so little interest in the silver problem, asido from is bearing od world trade, the extent of which is regarded as debatable, that this couniry could not afford to accept the responsibility of calling an international conference. It contends that United States’ international complications might be born of such a conference particularly with B'ritain as a result of tho Indian silver situation.
