BOY SACRIFICED BY DEVOTEES 01 KALI United Press Association.—By EleArie Telegraph.—Copyright. DELHI, April 3. Two villagers in the province of Bohad and Orissa were sentenced death on a charge of murdering a boy as a sacrifice to Kali, the Hindu goddess of power. The men, who practised sorcery, lured the boy into tho jungle on a festival night and beheaded him, throwing the body into a well. Congress supporters attempted to carry Gandhi’s photograph in tho sacred Juggernaut car at a Hindu festival in the village of Pedvadompar, near Madras. This resulted in the Congress men being fiercely attacked by devout Hindus.
The police had to fire to disperse the rioters, two of whom were killed. Several of the police were injured, and one is missing.
