AVIATION NOTES AEEO CLUB Unfavourable -weather during the past •week curtailed the flying activities of those undergoing instruction •with tho Dannevirke branch of the Wairarapa Aero Club. Instruction was resumed, however, on Saturday afternoon and yesterday morning. Four of the pupils have reached the solo stage after just over three hours’ dual instruction. GLIDING, The' gale during Thursday night damaged'the rudder of the Dannevirke Gliding Club’s machine which was picketed under some trees on Mr. Wi Eoneta’sjproperty. The rudder was reconstructed and flying was resumed yesterday, when a steady breeze was blowing. ‘ Two very fine flights were made by Captain W. Park, instructor to the "Wairarapa Aero Club. Mr. Chew, one of the constructors of the Wanganui glider, was a visitor to the flying fleld during the afternoon. Weather permitting, the glider will be aloft again shortly after 10 a.m. to-day. •The committee of the elub are considering ways and means of obtaining material with which to build a hangar to protect the glider from the weather. GENERAL [The Dannevirke Municipal Band, under the conductorship of Mr. J. H. Hardiman, rendered a much appreciated programme at the public hospital yesterday. afternoon.
