How They Han Sir Mond Pays a Price. There was a great finish in the President's Handicap and there was very little between the winner, Sir Mond, and My Own and Gay Cockade when they flashed past the judge. Lucky Alice was prominent early and led along the back from Gay Cockade, High Pitch and Corinax. Gay Cockade took charge at the home turn and showed the way into the straight ahead of Patutahi, Lucky Alice and Sir Mond. In the run to the judge, Sir Mond lasted well and got the verdict from My Own by a neck, Gay Cockade being only a head away third. Patutahi was fourth. The winner paid a good price. Lady Pam Not Extended. Lady Pam was at a short price for the Oaks and the issue was never in doubt. Lady Pam was in charge crossing the top, her nearest attendants being Trickle and Valmarie with Jenny Diver and Grand Spirit next. In the run to the post Lady Pam was never threatened and won easily by the best part of two lengths from \almane, Jenny Diver being two lengths away third. Foot Rule was fourth. Easy for Awapuni-Trained OtairiThe Awapuni-trained Otairi was at a short price for the Brighton Hurdlie and scored decisively. Otairi and Prince Lu were well clear of the others along the back, Star Comet being at the head of the others. Otairi took charge across the top and led into the straight from Prince Lu, Star Comet, Kamehameha and Luccss. Over the final bit Otairi was not troubled and ran home an easy winner by three lengths. Prince Lu was second ana there was a gap of eight lengths to the third horse, Lucess. Star Comet wart fourth. Hunting Cry the Champion Miler. Pegaway, Havering and Toxeuma carried most support in the Easton Handicap, but the dividends were returned by the brilliant Hunting Cry and Gold Money. Chief Joy was first to show up from Gold Day and Peg away, while Hunting Cry, Eag et Chromadyne and Toxeuma were all handy. Crossing the top, Chromadync ran to the front, followed by Eaglet, Pegawar, and Gold Money. Then came Havering, Hunting Cry and Mcrvettc. Gold Money was in front as the field entered the straight, with Chromadync next, the pair being followed bv Laglet. and Hunting Cry, with Golu Day and Lucy Rose following, in a goed finish, Hunting Cry stayed on best and got up to beat Gold Monev by three-quarters of a length, with Go d Day and Mcrvettc, who doa. -bested for third place, a'similar distance away. Havering was next. Then came . ilvcrminc, Toxeuma, Bright Glow, <mcy Rose and Pegaway. Bronze Eagle" Eaiy. In the G.N. Champagne Stakes, the order into the straight was H>-h Comedy, Baroscope and Cape Gold together; then came Bronze Eagle and Dulen. Once in line for the judge, Bronez Eagle came through and won. very easily by three lengths from Higl# Comedy, who beat Baroscope by 'hi* same distance. Dulen was fourth. Slump Beats Skyiider.
