During the year under review I havo to report that the racecourse buildings and tracks bavc been kept in the usual satisfactory manner by the caretaker, Mr. Simpson. Owing to tho very serious financial depression our Dominion is passing through and tho consequent serious effect this depression is having on racing clubs in general the committee of the Foxton Racing Club has refrained from expending money except in the case of urgent maintenance workIt is proposed to form a now training track on the course in tho near future and also to make a’ new entrance to racecourse off main road. The cost of this work will bo refunded to the club by the Government as a refund on taxation. Tho club has decided to reduce its gate charges lor its forthcoming meeting and has also decided to run a 10s totalisator. It is with very deep regret that I have to record the loss by° death of one of our early members in the person of the late Mr. Francis Robinson. The late Mr. Robinson was a trustee for 40 years and was also one of the original members of the Foxton Racing Club and his demise remove? an irreparable gentleman from our midst. It is with deep regret that I have also to record the death of Mr. Brook Taylor, a member of the Foxton Racing Club.”
