Christmas Cheer at Public Hospital

Pupils of Terrace End school provided very happy entertainment for the little people in the children’s ward at the Public Hospital yesterday morning. In the pretty frocks they had worn at the concert the previous evening, about 50 of the scholars walked up from the school to the hospital, in charge of Miss Chapman, also Misses Billens and Bland and the headmaster, Mr A. W. Thompson. They found a most appreciative audience in the children’s ward, the sick children being delighted with their hour’s concert. The items were: Nursery Rhymes; songs by the senior girls; the Violets from the Cantata; balloon dance, Valerie Oram; Grecian dance, Patricia Burgess; recitation, Marjorie Olsen. Further delight was provided, by the gifts that the scholars had brought along for the little inmates. SubMatron Dedney returned thanks to the visitors for their kindly thought and later expressed her appreciation of their mannerly behaviour.
