Very Rare Roman Coin

A’ Tare specimen of a It Oman coin of considerable interest lias been found by a peasant in a field at Capua, near Naples. According to the date, which is easily legible, the coin was minted in the year 286. On one side the coin bears the head of the goddess Roma, and on the reverse is shown the prow of a ship, the symbol of the maritime power of Rome. The coin, which has remained buried for 22 centuries, has lost much of its original weight, which was 163 grams; it now weighs 13.1 grams.
