Notes of the Day
Mr W. G. Ileyibittle, of Christchurch, who bias been on a business trip to Australia is visiting Feilding prior to returning to the South Island. While escaping the experiences oi other towns in tho matter of snowfalls,. I'eliding has not been without extraordinary weather experiences recently.. Excessive cold has accompanied the unusually dry winter and a falling barometer over last week-end, brought with it light rain. Yesterday, however, conditions were unusually mild, notwithstanding the weather forecast and the extraordinary low reading of the barometer which registered yesterday morning 25.'80.’ ‘The “glas,” has on occasions been down to 29.00 but rarely goes beyond this point whih. is generally indicative of boisterous weather conditions. A surprise visit to ono'of the Feilding hotels by the police on Tuesday morning will have its sequel in the appearance at the Magistrate’s Court of a mumibor of persons, including females, in the near future. This evening a concent will be held in the Parish, hall, Feilding, in aid of the Methodist . Tennis Club’s new cuorts fund.
