Hokowhitu School
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Hokowlritu school committee was held lastevening, Mr. G. Pattle presiding. Also present were: Messrs. J. H. McDowell, A. E. Bloomfield, F. Robbie, J. B. Sankey, W. E. Cooper and F. E. Wilson (secretary). In his monthly report, the headmaster (Mr. T. J. Plank) stated that, the attendance had been maintained, tbo average being 342. Twenty-one pupils were admitted during the month while ten left the school. The present rail stood at 373. The following donations were acknowledged: Football for midgets, from the Manawatu Rugby Union; trophy (gold football), for presentation to the keenest and most improved player, from Kia Toa Football Club, and a picture from G. H. Bennett, Ltd. • The school will be closed from August 23 to September 6 for the second teVm holidays, while it was suggested that the fancy dress ball be held on Friday, September ,19. v ' T,
