Farewell Afternoon
TO MRS. P. B. ACKLAND. A very pleasant afternoon was given by tlie Ladies' Guild of Holy Trinity Church, Woodville, and friends in honour of Mrs. P. B. Ackland, who is leaving for Auckland this week. Part of the afternoon was taken up with competitions, the winners being Mrs. B. B. De Ath and Mrs. J. Sullivan. Individual items were given by Miss Grace Johnston (pianoforte solo), Misses S. Morgan and N. Nilsson (pianoforte duet). A very dainty afternoon tea was served, and the president of the Guild, Mrs. Mules, on behalf of the members and friends present, presented Mrs. Ackland with an afternoon tea set, a dinner waggon and a salad set. Mrs. Ackland very suitably replied. Considering the very stormy weather there was a very large attendance. The singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow” brought a very pleasant afternoon to a conclusion.
