To Prevent Fraying
Articles such as pillow cases, towels and D ’Oyleys ,which have embroidered scalloped edges, sometimes ravel or fray out slightly tho first time they are laundered, and never again look perfect. Thi can be prevented if, after the embroidering, and before the outside cloth is cut away from the scallops, all this part is soaked well in water. This shrinks in advance the fibres of the goods and tho cut edge will not afterward bo affected by laundering.
