Mohammed Yakab, deputy president of the Assembly, in speaking at the all India Moslem conference at Bombay, described Gandhi’s campaign as lawless and declared that Moslems would never countenance it. It was a sham, fraught with grave consequences and was bound to retard the country’s peaceful progress. Yakub praised tho Viceroy for his liborality, sympathy and sincerity. Ho finally appealed to the Moaloms to organise and to present a united front.
