RADIO NOTES. “Native Bird Life’’ will be the subject of a talk by Mr F. E. Mackenzie, president of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, at IYA this evening at 7.40. The concert programme from IYA will be of an operatic nature. Another of the weekly topical talks will be given by Mr A. B. Chappell, and Mr Cvril Towsey will be hoard in two

pianoforte solos. During the evening excerpts from the "Talkies” at the .Majestic Theatre will be relayed. Contributing to 2YA’s programme will be a new duo in the persons of Mr Douglas Stark and Miss Maisie Oakes, who will entertain listeners with humorous items, popular songs and light vocal ducts. Mr Claude Moss and Miss Phyllis Martin will also appear. A feature of the instrumental portion of the programme will be two trios by Messrs. W. Ilaydoek, S. Chapman , and Mr T. Dixon. The 2YA Salon Orches-

tra under Mr Dixon will play Edward German’s ‘Nell Gwynn Dances,” AVormsor’s suite ‘Enfant Prodiquc’, and Olsen’s ‘Petite Rhapsody Russe.’ The Salvation Army Band under Mr A. W. Millard will provide a programme at 4YA. The items to be played will be ‘Red Shield,’ ‘ln Emanuel’s Praise,’ ‘Adcste Fidcles, ’ ‘.Beethoven and Spohr” .‘Musical Switch,’ ‘AYarrior’s Reward,’ ‘B-cauty of Christ,’ and the march ‘Beaumont.’ The supporting vocalists will be Mrs I>.
