Primary Schools’ Sports
THE FEILDING ORGANISATION. At a meeting of the committee of the FeUding and District Public Schools’ Amateur Athletic Association, presided over by Mr. A. C. McCorkindale, the secretary (Mr. E. H. Lainge) presented a statement of receipts and expenditure on the sports gathering held on March 8. The total receipts amounted to £63, and the expenses £36, leaving a credit balance of £27. Out of this the association -would pay the prize money to the schools, roughtly about £l6. The revenue was ahead of the previous year by something like £lO. The satisfactory position was largely due to the efforts of the Manchester street and Lytton street schools, which had gathered in a large number of honorary members.
A motion was carried, recording the committee’s appreciation of the excellent conduct of all the children of the schools represented at the sports. It was decided to pay out 3s, 2s and Is for firsts, seconds and thirds in the various competitions. This will absorb £l6.
A donation of £2 2s was made to the Cricket Association for having given up the ground for the sports meeting, and thanks will also be extended to the Feilding Borough Council.
