Garage Owner Fined for Storing Excessive Petrol

PUMPS AND TANKS SEIZED. Per Press Aasociatism AUCKLAND, Last Night. _ The first prosecution of the kind in Auckland was brought by the . Chief Inspector of Dangerous Goods, in the Polico Court to-day, when Raymond Wilfred Clare, was charged with keepine- or storing in pumps and a tank in a. garage at Panmurc 855 gallons of petrol. Defendant pleaded guilty. The inspector said that, he did not press for a heavy fine. He wanted to warn owners.

The Bench imposed a nominal fine ol' ten shillings, but also ordered the pumps and tanks to be forfeited. Eight of the pumps, were owned by proprietary companies, which had not taken out licenses for them
